Capturing the Light Photography
Well, the wife finally locked the front door and forced me to take some pictures of the kids.
At least I won't here the "I'm married to a *%$#ing photographer and we don't have any pictures of MY babies!!!" line anymore. :)
Couldn't really argue with her logic, but hey, I've been busy....
I have to admit, it was a lot tougher than I thought getting good shots of squirming/puking/crying babies but I'm pretty happy with the results.
My lucky 07/07/07 couple was Doug & Amanda.
They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Whistlebear Golf & Country Club in Cambridge.
Afterwards, we ran around the entire course on golf carts to get some great shots.
I can honestly say, in all the weddings I've been too, I've never laughed so hard during the speeches!
That was by far, THE BEST Beastie Boys cover I've ever seen!

One of the perks of this job is that I get to do a little bit of traveling.
On June 30th, I headed down the 401 for Cheryl & John's wedding in Leamington.
John is Lebeneese, so the wedding had lots of great traditions that you don't see everyday. It was my first time experiencing a Dabke!

Jamie + Mitch got hitched back on July 14th, 2007 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Royal Botanical Gardens.
The girls (minus Jamie) started their day at the Body + Sole Salon
While we did get rained out the gardens for pictures, we found a great little spot for some funky pictures.
Then it was off to the Oakville Conference Center for a very swank reception.

Took a drive out to Milverton for Fiona & Kent's engagement shoot. What a cool little town!
We decided to use Kent's parents beautiful property.
Things kind of turned into a little mini family portrait since Sarah was visiting grandma & grandpa for the MIDNIGHT MADNESS sale. Mack the dog decided to tag along too.

I get a lot of questions about my albums.
They're not your old-school-white pleather-with gold trim kind of thing.
When I was starting my business I made a decision to try and offer the best to my customers. After searching the internet and asking other photographers around the world, I settled on Jorgensen Albums
Each album is custom designed by me and the couple.
They are so many options it's actually kind of daunting starting out.
Some of your choices for the cover include:leather, fabric, photo covers, acrylic. We can also upgrade to metal or wood covers for a little extra.
Each page layout is custom so there are no set number of pictures. If you want a lot, have a lot. If you want a simple, elegant layout, go for it!
I have included some pictures of both the albums I offer. The larger one is included in the package, the smaller one s the parent album which sells for $400.

The Davies' were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate father to start their family.
On the day the proxy father was to arrive, Mr. Davies kissed his wife goodbye and said, "Well, I'm off now. The man should be here soon."
Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer happened to ring the doorbell, hoping to make a sale.
"Good morning, Ma'am", he said, "I've come to..."
"Oh, no need to explain," Mrs. Davies cut in, embarrassed, "I've been expecting you."
"Have you really?" said the photographer. "Well, that's good. Did you know babies are my specialty?"
"Well that's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat"
After a moment she asked, blushing, "Well, where do we start?"
"Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the couch, and perhaps a couple on the bed. And sometimes the living room floor is fun. You can really spread out there."
"Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn't work out for Harry and me!" "Well, Ma'am, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven angles, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results."
"My, that's a lot!", gasped Mrs. Davies.
"Ma'am, in my line of work a man has to take his time. I'd love to be In and out in five minutes, but I'm sure you'd be disappointed with that."
"Don't I know it," said Mrs. Davies quietly.
The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures.
"This was done on the top of a bus," he said.
"Oh, my God!" Mrs. Davies exclaimed, grasping at her throat.
"And these twins turned out exceptionally well - when you consider their mother was so difficult to work with."
"She was difficult?" asked Mrs. Davies.
"Yes, I'm afraid so. I finally had to take her to the park to get the job done right. People were crowding around four and five deep to get a good look"
"Four and five deep?" said Mrs. Davies, her eyes wide with amazement.
"Yes", the photographer replied. "And for more than three hours too. The mother was constantly squealing and yelling - I could hardly concentrate, and when darkness approached I had to rush my shots. Finally, when the squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just had to pack it all in."
Mrs. Davies leaned forward. "Do you mean they actually chewed on your, uh...equipment?"
"It's true, Ma'am, yes.. Well, if you're ready, I'll set-up my tripod and we can get to work right away."
"Tripod?"
"Oh yes, Ma'am. I need to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It's much too big to be held in the hand very long."
Mrs. Davies fainted!!
Tania and Todd got hitched back on June 23 (I guess I'm a little slow on this whole blogging thing...).
We started our day at Chameleon with the girls getting all done up. They didn't need much, but what the hell, I think Tania was paying!
The Ceremony was at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Kitchener. If you ask me, this is one of the nicest churches in town.
After the ceremony, we headed down to Clarica/Sunlife/whateverthehelltheycallthemselveslately for pictures since both Todd & Tania work there.
Then it was off to Golf's Steakhouse for an awesome meal (Yeah! Schnitzel!) and reception.
